Valentine’s Day and Other Cool Happenings
...Chocolate and Books!
Do you like Valentine’s Day? It seems like we either love it or hate it.

Yummers!
I like it because I usually get chocolate. However, the hype surrounding the holiday–which really isn’t one, because no one ever gets the day off–is kind of annoying. Retail companies have forgotten what the day is all about. It’s not gushy love and all of that.
From Wikipedia: “It originated as a Christian feast day honoring a martyr named Valentine…”
So yes, it is all about love, but the sacrificial kind. The kind that lasts for a lifetime . . . and an eternity.
What is your favorite part of Valentine’s Day?
For me, it’s the chocolate for sure . . . but also there’s this: All of the Valentine’s Day gifts that were hand-crafted in school by my kiddos down through the decades. I wouldn’t trade those for anything.

Just in case the graphic isn’t clear enough . . .
March 1st, 12:00-3:00pm, Women’s Century Club, 304 N. 2nd St., Yakima WA. Twenty-four (that’s 24!) Washington authors and their readers will meet, greet, and talk books, books, and more books!
If you’re in the region of Central Washington, you are invited. And if you are a reader, that’s an engraved invitation. How cool is it to get a book signed by the author, especially if it happens right in front of you–that’s the best, right? And how sweet it is when authors get to connect with readers!
So, we hope to see you on March 1st with bells on, hunting for your next great read!
